Town of Eberswalde

The history of Eberswalde, now the district town of the administrative district of Barnim, is marked by trade and industry. In the 19th Century already the town, situated in an environment rich with forest and water, had a good reputation as a healing and spa town. With the opening of the railway line Berlin–Stettin (1842) Eberswalde became a popular destination available to the general public.

The festival week on the occasion of the 750-year celebration in 2004 was a highlight in our tourist region with numerous attractions, events and surprises. The best places of interest of Eberswald include the Maria-Magdalene Church, the museum in der Adler pharmacy, the forest botanic garden and the brass work settlement. The most popular excursion destinations are the zoo, which was distinguished as the best small zoo of Germany and invites with an exciting lion park and many other family-friendly offers, and the family garden Eberswalde on the former site of the regional garden exhibition 2002. The town of Eberswalde and the Barnim Land achieved fame through the regional garden exhibiton and attracts thousands of visitors with its numerous events, the Eber crane and a unique fairy tale countryside. It was possible to retain all these things in the family garden Eberswalde and there are even more attractions waiting for you. The new waterpark "baff" promises lots of fun and variety with the adventure area with fun and play pools, giant slide and whirlpools and special offers for fitness and wellness.

Information on the town of Eberswalde can be found in the Touristinformation Eberswalde or in the Touristmuszentrum Eberswalde (Family garden).
